About NEA KEYS

The National Education Association represents over 2.7 million teachers and other education employees. In 1990, NEA embarked on a major research effort to define and quantify the critical organizational conditions of school quality. The research led to the development of the NEA Keys to Excellence in your Schools (KEYS) initiative.

Our work on KEYS

GreenRiver.org has been working actively with the NEA since 2000 to develop innovative initiatives to improve the quality of public education. As a result, GreenRiver.org developed the online version of KEYS. This online school improvement instrument assesses seven critical areas of school performance. The statistical analysis engine conducts factor analyses and presents results dynamically in customized reports.
